James D. O'Connell (b. Sept. 25, 1899, Chicago, Ill.-d. July 29, 1984, Washington, D.C.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1922 and from Signal School in 1925. Emil Lenzner (1899-1980) was born in Felytz, Germany. He was in enlisted service from 1917 to 1920, and received his commission in the Signal Corps from West Point in 1924. He saw duty in Hawaii from September 1925 to September 1929. He was an instructor with Illinois National Guard from 1933 to 1935 then served as assistant to the signal officer at Army Ground Forces from October 1941 to September 1942.
